Additionally, the Anniversary Update to Windows 10 causes some problems (namely huge slowdowns), which can be fixed only by placing a pre-Anniversary Update 'd3d9.dll' into the game directory (or, if there's already a file named 'd3d9.dll' there because of the subtitle mod, then under the name 'd3d9_alt.dll'). You probably should not go as far as to switch your system locale to Japanese, because you will experience issues with other stuff.
